Lisa See’s SNOW FLOWER AND THE SECRET FAN Heads to the Big Screen this Summer

Bestselling author, Lisa See, will soon see her award winning 2005 novel, SNOW FLOWER AND THE SECRET FAN, wonderfully translated to film come July 2011. See, herself a Chinese-American living in Los Angeles, is known for her meticulously researched, lovingly rendered stories of the Chinese culture both in history and modern day. The trailer from Fox Searchlight has just been released and stars Bingbing Li, Gianna Jun, Vivian Wu, and (intriguingly) Hugh Jackman. It is directed by Wayne Wang. The story follows two friends through their lives in nineteenth-century, while flashing to parallels of a pair of friends in 21st century Shanghai.
