Previously, John Daniel won Oregon Book Awards for Looking After: A Son’s Memoir and The Trail Home: Nature, Imagination, and the American West. In the interests of diversifying his achievements, Daniel also won a PNBA Book Award for Rogue River Journal: A Winter Alone in 2006.
